Project Description
Leeds Survivor Led Crisis Service is looking for new people to join our Board of Trustees
Leeds Survivor Led Crisis Service is a vibrant, highly respected, innovative and multi award winning charity. We provide services to people in acute mental health crisis, which are alternatives to hospital admission or statutory services.
The Board of Trustees play a crucial role in leading and steering the organisation and upholding its vision and philosophy.
The role of Trustee involves meeting, usually on a Monday evening, on a quarterly basis. There is also opportunity to sit on a sub-committee, and occasional involvement in operational tasks, such as staff recruitment, focus groups with visitors, callers and guests and staff development sessions. There are also opportunities to shadow shifts across our portfolio of services.
You will need to be able to make a minimum commitment to LSLCS of 5 evening meetings per year. These meetings are a mixture of face to face and remote.
What are we looking for?
We are particularly seeking trustees with legal expertise, HR knowledge and safeguarding experience. However, we are open to people applying who don’t hold these particular skills.
Due to our “Survivor Led” ethos, we are especially looking for people who have or have had direct experience of emotional distress.
We are particularly keen to achieve a more diverse Board of Trustees and we welcome applications from all sections of the community.
All new trustees are subject to a DBS check
